Quick and easy hard case bin for MXT

Someone asked me a question about the padded bag or not....I say you can do better with 15.00 at Wal-Mart/K-Mart.

Just buy a plastic bin (5.00) and a twin sized mattress pad (egg crate 10.00)

Get out a razor and cut to fit the bin lid and bottom and you've got a solid set of protection for your MXT (or other, gasp, detector). I'd recommend spray on adhesive for the lid/foam and definitely let it dry before putting everything back together.

Hope that helps out!

Great idea especially when traveling. Your detector is safe even when you luggage shifts and falls right on your detector.

Thanks for the tip !

I'll definitely checkout the storage bins at K-Mart/Walmart. My Jeep would undoubtedly be a rough ride for a detector - especially with some of the places I'm apt to be taking it....

Easier and faster still is to use a hunting bow case. The foam padding is already there with tie down straps. Plenty of room for two detectors plus all of your extra stuff too. They can be found for as low as $20 on up.

Oh that's no fun :) Yeah, I've looked at those as being a good alternative too. Still can't beat the bin with foam price and you can have three cases for 10.00 more, so 25.00 covers up to 6 detectors... (basing that on 5.00 per extra bin, you have plenty of foam to cover that much, 2 detectors per bin)....plenty of storage. The bow case is made for carrying easily though...
