questoin about threshold

I run mine on 1. Gives me enough threshold volume without being an annoyance. Sometimes if i am just hunting shallow stuff i turn it completely off.
 
No. My understanding is the threahold will actually help you hear deeper targets. I could be wrong.
 
I always use a bit extra on that, seems the deeper targets can be heard easier in the minor varience of the tone, then I re-sweep to be sure, then dig.
