Questions

I printed out the specs from the Minelab site for the SE and the Quattro and I realize the Quattro does not have all the bells and whistles of the SE, it costs much less, but what are the real differences, in particular:

Is the Q coil the same one touted as light weight in the SE?

Is the Q lighter than the SE? The Q has a shipping weight of 3 lbs 7 ozs but could not see it for the SE?

Does the Q have iron mask?

Are sensitivity adjustments the same?

Does the Q have noise cancel?

Is recovery speed adjustable on the Q?

Does the Q detect the same way with two variables, and show them on the display as a grid like the SE does?

I tried to download the manuals to look at but got noting I could read? Anyway, just interested in a new machine and have not seen at Q yet.

Thanks

Hello Randy, Not having an Explorer I can't answer all questions but from "Mastering the Quattro" by Andy Sabisch the Quattro weight is 3lb 7 oz, plus the weight of the batteries. The coil would not appear to be the same as the new Explorer.
I don't know what iron mask is but the iron range can be set so the quattro ignores it (but this does leave a period of nulling while the detector resets)
Sensitivity is manual from 1 to 20 or auto via the on screen menu.
Noise cancel is a dedicated button on the face plate.
There is a fast and slow recovery setting (trash setting)in the menu
The on screen display for targets is simplified and not the grid system that the Explorer has.
The explorer forum would be the best place to ask about iron mask.
Regards
John
