questions on the gbp

Target response speed is pretty much second to none. Most certainly one of the fastest machines on the market.

Depth is good. Especially good on lower conductors, but very respectable on higher conductors such as coins. A 6" dime and 8" quarter is an easy target in my test garden, using the 11" coil, in disc. mode. I can hit an 8" dime and 10" quarter, but not quite as solidly -- still diggable. In all-metals mode, it's even deeper. The 5" coil is not as deep, as you would expect. The 5x10 is a little deeper than the 5". It also excels on very small targets -- especially with the smaller coils. It can hit a pretty small low-conductive target at good depth, as well...I've dug .22 cal bullets at 8" to 9" deep with the 11" coil...

thanx for the help im thingking of getting one. which version of the gbp would be the best choice?

Best choice for what? It's kind of like asking how long is a piece of rope.

GBP stands for Gold Bug Pro. There are no "versions" of that particular detector. There are other Gold Bug detectors (e.g., the Gold Bug 2). You probably ought to research the subject more thoroughly to understand the various Gold Bug machines that are available before making a purchase decision.

I think hs is rying to ask if he should try to get an older gbp or/g2 that had software version 2.9 or 3 or 4..
Unless you can find a new old stock with such versions..You will be buying software version 4 as far as I know,

Any of the versions will do great for your purposes. Sounds like you don't plan to hunt high conductors; even so, most of the 2.9 versions have had the "silver fix" done anyway...

Any version out there will do you just fine...if you get a newer one, it will be version 4...
