IN addition to my 6x10 I just purchased a used 950 coil for my MXT. Put it on my MD and went outside to my little test garden and dang it if I didn't get any better results than when I used my 6x10. So here's my questions.
1. How do you marry a coil to a detector so that you can achieve the greatest amount of depth?
2. Do you increase or decrease the gain to get better depth?
3. In clay type soil what types of depth reading should you be getting with a 950 coil on the MXT?
4. In an air test, what should be acceptable in terms of depth on a penny, nickel, dime and quarter?
5. Could there be something wrong with my detector?
Thanks- I'm a new detector in terms of months but since the new year I've put about 75 hours in of detecting time(love it!) but I know I'm still new enough to not know what I am doing.
