Questions from a newbie.

Hello, Iam New to treasure hunting. And recently bought a Whites spectrum xlt (rainbow) for $100. It came with a never used bullseye 5.3 coil. And the factory coil. No battery charger or battery pack. It does have the AA battery pack, so it does work. Iam just wondering if this is a good deal for the most part ??? I downloaded the owners manuel off the whites website. I took it out for a trial run yesterday in my back yard. I found a couple rusty nails, a kids jack, some type of metal flange, and a irrigation line that I didn't know was there. All in all I didn't get rich my first time out but had a blast looking. Is there anyone in the portland Oregon area that could possibly show me how to get the most out of my new to me detector ??? Thanks in advance, any suggestions for a newbie greatly appriciated.

an EXCELLENT deal! If it works well, you didn't make a bad purchase at all.

I am out in the Hillsboro/Forest Grove area and would be glad to help you with it.

Also, if you would like to e-mail me at: monte@ahrps.org

I will put you on our mailing list for our monthly metal detector group meetings we host. We call them Detector Owner Rendezvous and they are FREE to the public. Meetings are held in Tigard, Oregon. I'll be sending out a reminder e-mail to all attendees later today and will gladly put you on the list. Just e-mail your name, address, phone number and, of course, your e-mail address.

The XLT was one of the best White's models, ever, and is in my Top-Five all-time favorite detectors from them. Now you just need to learn it and get out and find stuff!

Hey Monte, Iam also out in Forest Grove. My email is scollard@Comcast.net. maybe we could meet up some day soon. Maybe just one of the playgrounds in FG. I would love some input on my new hobbie. I could buy you a cup of coffee or a beer for your time. Thanks

If it boots UP when you turn it ON, and it BEEPs/chimes/sings when you go over something metal......You got a steal of a deal.

Do you want to sell it for twice that?

If you do, I will buy it from you....Keep me in mind if you want to sell it.

Congrats you'll do well once you learn it.

Great tector and even better deal...wtg....used one for years and loved it....gl and hh!

I'd be glad to meet up with you. I just got back home and am working on the e-mail to go out to the detecting folks. E-mail me or call and let me know what times of the day or evening are best for you. I am generally quite flexible.
