Questions for Fisher Customer Service

LaBeep

New member
I have a pre-lifetime warranty CZ5 and all ways done my own repairs after the warranty expired. Parts have all way been available.

So here's my questions:

Have the new Fisher decided to start reselling parts to it valued customers yet?

Now how hard is this?

Is it because you don't have enough parts and don't want to manufacture more?

Are you going to leave your past customers hanging?

All I need is a new housing. Not the control face. You still make the cz3d so you should have housings.

So simple put could you get me a new housing so I can finish repairing my CZ5 and continue using a great machine?

For the rest of you readers:
If any body reading this has a broke cz5 and wants to sell for parts. Please PM me.

I could be off base here, but I do believe they, (Fisher), want you to order the parts through a dealer, or a repair center.

I was the old Fisher that decided to discontinue the CZ series, not the new owner. I doubt that their manufacturing new molded parts for the CZ's, but are drawing from new old stock for the 3D. This is just a guess on my part. I could be wrong on this also, because the new Fisher did re-design the CZ-20 case with the re-intro. of the CZ-21.

If you read down a post or two, you will find a post from "Bobbie". She is a customer service person, and she posted her phone number. Why not give them a phone call Monday ??

No parts are being sold to dealers either. Been there done that. Kellyco can't even get Fisher parts.

I will call Bobbie but I already talked to Felix. I Just want a policy out in the open, not the "I did not say that" answer when it is between you and Fisher customer service with a phone call.

Bobbie said she was on here to answer questions so I put the question here for all to see.

I even called you to see if you could get me some Fisher parts. Do you remember what you told me?

Mr Bill you may be right about the 3d housing is not the same as the cz5, but i think it is the same so it should be no problem to sell me one.

I don't even know who you are.

I don't know any factorys that would sell parts direct to the consumer, at least it's not normal that they do. I'm sure if you sent it in to them, it would have gotten fixed. One thing I have learned in this business, nothing is cast in stone. Things can change. For good customer relations, they may do something. :)

As far as "a policy being out in the open". You may get a better answer if you don't try to pin them to a wall. Things can always be done different on a individual bases rather than a direct policy statement.

Fisher has sold me parts in the past. It was the old Fisher management and it may have been done on a per customer basis.
Whites has sold me parts (New display lens). A company wanting good money tends to work with their customers. A company that whats to keep customers will work with their customers. My Fisher was pre lifetime warrenty, there for I fix it my self, don't see paying X $ amount of labor and shipping when it plug and play and I can do it my self. When I can pay for part and shipping one way.

Now I hit a brick wall with Fisher over such a little thing for a high dollar machine. That public might be what is needed to "get it done" at the very least I will be no worse off. Since as it currently stands I must send them the detector to get if fixed. I am trying very hard to keep this neutral.

Fisher customer service (Bobbi said ask away) so I am.
If Bobbi wish to talk via pm's I will and If she ask me to remove this post I will.

I think your right Labeep, lets let fisher answer this question out in the open,I'M SURE THEY KNOW if it wasn't for us fisher would have to close their doors.

I agree, she did ask for questions. I cringed a bit when I read that statement, because she doesn't have to straighten things out when it get's nasty. I'm well aware of the problems it brings. Hopefully you get a answer that's satisfying to all. Most important, you get the part you need.

As far as removing your message, after 30 minutes you can't.

We do sell parts to consumers, end users, dealers, etc. To say that KellyCo cannot get parts is beyond me, because we get orders from them every single day. Now for parts on discontinued models, heck yes, it will be hard even for dealers to get a hold of this stuff. No one said you couldn't order parts from us direct, at least no one from Fisher that I know of. Go on ahead and give me a call Monday between 8 am and 4:30 pm, and I will see if we have something you can use. Please keep in mind that if we were to keep manufacturing or stocking parts for "long gone" units, then as a business trying to prosper into new material, we would simply lose out. But no one is saying we'll leave anyone high and dry. A little research into where the discontinued parts came from never hurt nobody either. If that's what it is going to take to get you a housing, then I'll do that. For the record, Felix should not be advising on any parts without getting word from me or one of the technicians. So just call me direct for parts.

Bobbie,
It would not hurt to compile a data base of all the suppliers for the components that made the CZ series. Though I understand that new products are much more profitable, no problem with that, but you have to understand that the users of the "long gone" units are the same ones that purchase the new Fisher units( brand loyalty). It also would not hurt to have experts on the old series of detectors at the standby to answer question on old units, there are several on this site...Mr. Bill comes to mind. Not everyone posts on this site. I called several months back, before I started posting on this site, with a question on the coinstrike and received an answer that I knew to be incorrect (pin point question). I asked one of the "old guys" on this forum ( the one that promoted the unit) and received an answer with in 2 minutes! The old Fishers were built like tanks and will be around for a long time to come and team work between new and old will only breed success.

I am glad she said she will sell me the parts. They now moved up a couple of notches in my mind. I know that there are many cz5's (discontinued models or lone gone units) that fall under lifetime warranties, so it might be good to research where parts came from if there is a shortage. At least that was what I was thinking. Maybe It's just me, I like think outside the box. But KUDOS to Bobbi.

Just wanted to mention all the talk of inconsistency with the CZ3D models, specifically the tuning. I was almost afraid to get one because of it. Any plans to address that?

Bill, buy one of the eariler serial numbers,It was put out by the old fisher company, great detector.Although i know someone that had a later model and it does fine, but the earlier serial numbers units are still out there.

I did get one from Larry at NWI. It is the earlier number model starts with 1121. I talked to Kellyco and they said the 3D's were still being produced, don't know if that is true or not. I was kind of thinking down the road sometime if I ever wanted to get a new one with warranty. I did not just want to take the chance that I may or may not get a good one.

To fisher - With all the talk of a fisher detector being just a bounty hunter with fisher labels, could this be true.Never before could you use a bounty hunter coil on a fisher detector. Now that the new fisher detectors are produced by the same company that produces bounty hunter detectors, we now can use a bounty hunter coil on a fisher detector. In order for that to happen the electronics in the box must match the coil.So if the coil fits a fisher detector than the electronics must be bounty hunter also.

I know i still can get parts for my 1968 mustang, ford doesn't make and have not made that model since 1968 but parts are still avail.

They would have lost it a lot earlier if they would not be able to supply the parts we need.Without the customer there is no need for the builder.
