Questions for 1236x2 users

1) Is there any type of tone ID on the 1236? I've not been able to find anything about it, so I guess that probably means the answer is "no". But I'm hoping I'm wrong. If there is no tone ID, do all targets sound the same?

2) Is it really that good in an area covered with iron trash? At a ghost town near here, there's so much iron trash laying around that I don't know how the miners got any work done - it seems they spent all their time throwing cans and other iron trash  . Really, you'd have to see it to believe it.

Thanks for your comments.

Phillip, I have owned a 1236X2 for several years and am very pleased with it. In fact I own two of them because I wanted a backup. It only has one tone, but, there are variations to that tone that will give you a lot of info once you have become familiar with the 1236. The iron disc position will knock out iron! I used it exclusively at Huntington Beach because of all the nails and screws etc. It will really hit on jewelry. I found so much jewelry at the beach I was amazed. You will appreciate the silencer switch if you have ever used a 1266X or a 1235X as I have. Those machines will chatter a lot in trashy areas.
I have one of the 1236X2's for sale if you are interested. I want to try something else. Just zip me an email. I hope this has been helpfull. HH Wanderer
