Have any of you guys out there use the 8.5 x 12.5 NEL HUNTER COIL (for the AT PRO)? I watched the YOUTUBE video but that not as good as someone actually testing it out in the field. Been thinking of getting one for an up coming hunt. From the video, it's a little better than the stock coil. picks up a silver dime at 10". I'm hoping it's true. Any info would be good.

I have heard both good and not so good reports on the Nel coils on detectors. If you purchase one, and compare it to your regular coil you use on the same targets, and get better depth while still maintaining accuracy with ID, and can still run the same sensitivity, you did good. If you purchase one and it does not get much better depth or discrimination or can't be operated at a high sensitivity, you are in a conundrum. The NEL Coil company will blame a faulty AT detector, and Garrett will blame the after market coil. There will be no real way of finding out what the problem is. I presume Nel has a money back guaranty just in case? Good luck with your decision, and let us know how the new coil works.

asiandigger, I've never used the Nel hunter coil but do have the Nel 12 x 13 tornado. I pulled an Injun at 10 1/2" the other day at a local park with my sens at 1 bar below max. It gave a good coin sound, numbers jump around but mostly stayed in the coin range. It runs very stable even when I run it at full sensitivity. When I had the X-terra 705 I had a Nel tornado on it. Very good coils IMO. hope this helps

Hi !
I have Nel Hunter couple of months and about 180 hours experience with it . In my opinion ,coil is better than stock have better separation in heavy trash area faster recovery speed faster reaction for very small hammered coins and is more sensitivity .

I have the 5.5 x 8.5 Sharpshooter NEL coil for my A T Pro and find it to be a good inch deeper then the 5 x 8 Garrett. I honestly can't say it separates any better, but am able to run full sen., it runs quiet and I D's great. Going to put the Garrett 5 x 8 back on and give it another good workout and then let one of them go. Don't need them both. HH jim tn

Aren't the NEL coils from the Ukraine? Not sure I's order anything from there at the moment.
