Questions about the Eagle Spectrum

Pretty excited... I'll be getting a (described as) near mint Eagle Spectrum tomorrow. I've heard a ton about these legendary machines.

I've been studying up on it like I'm studying for a final exam. I've been MD'ing for forever, so I'm not intimidated by a machine with some powerful tweaks.

I have 2 questions:

My first question is, how do you save a program? Oddly enough, nowhere in the manual do I see how to save a program?

and secondly (and most important) how do I/can I save a modified version of one of the presets? ex:

Lets say most of the Jewelry/Beach preset program will work for me, 'cept the SAT speed, recovery speed and preamp gain. Can I load the preset Jewelry/Beach, make modifications to it then save it in one of the 2 available custom slots? Or, do I have to manually enter all the settings from the preset Jewelry/Beach THEN save them?

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

I have one and it is a good machine. Right now it is a back up for my Explorer SE. If you can find the Daryl Townley Spectrum Better Depth and Performance book it has a load of info in it. Yes...You can modify the preset program and save it in custom 1 or 2. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Bob Bailey has some info on his site that's pretty good for tweaking. He uses books and magazines without any metal in the bindings and stacks them and plays with the settings. This way you can actually judge weather or not your tweak helped or not by adding or having to remove layers..
Taking it to another level you could fill a small wooden or cigar box with soil from your area and use it for your base layer giving better indication of how your tweaks will act in the field.
I used to have a Eagle as well but I was more into prospecting at the time it was really neglected.
