Can you ground balance it when in salt mode? If so how do you and what's the difference between it and the the enhanced mode? Where I hunt it's highly mineralized packed red clay and was wondering which mode would be more beneficial to me.
Yes.
Switch to all metal, turn sens and volume to max, pump the coil 2 - 10 + or - inches from the soil while listening to the threshold and with your hand on the ground balance knob. Adjust the GB to hear a steady sound while pumping the coil up then down repeatedly. After balancing, set your volume and sens down then switch to 0 disc, or to your preference.
Enhanced mode high tones American coinage even nickels. Salt mode is best for salt water wet sand.
Sure you can same as the enhanced mode rel balancing...Only time I used was in the wet sand of N.J. saltwater shores but sure worth a try in bad ground..
Never used the saltmode on land even with older CZ's that had a reg and salt mode...over the years some fellows switched back and forth between salt and regular mode with older CZ's to check targets and claimed it helped to dig or not but never did myself. Another aspect used by some to set the ground balance slightly positive or slightly negative and feel setting slightly negative may help in your situation..
It is actually a prototype of the CZ-3D he uses in the video. He is a master and it is VERY helpful to watch. I would love to have a similar video for every machine I own. I had Tom MOD my CZ-5 and it is just sharper and stronger. The CZs are great machines. I hope Fisher keeps making them and a new model would be nice too!
