Questions about CZ 20 underwater machine

I just acquired an almost like new CZ 20, but I don't understand for sure whether I can un-bolt the coil cord at the control box. I don't want to prevent it from being used underwater. The instructions I printed off the internet don't explain that question.
Secondly, are the small round "stem-like" knobs on each headphone earpiece designed to turn the volume up and down, or what do they do? On these headphones, they don't do much of anything that I can tell. The instructions don't even mention these things. Thanks!

First, I think if you un-bolt the coil cord you are probably going to have to sent it to fisher and have it repaired.. Not sure, just my thoughts. The two little things on the headphones are plugs to let water out should water get into the headphones.. They are rubber and pop out easy...There is no volume control on the headphones.

Thanks, Tom. I haven't tried to unscrew the cord, so it's intact as far as I know, but then, it's a used (only a couple of times?) machine. I'm glad to know about the earpiece stems/plugs. That is good news; they aren't broken! Man, am I looking forward to swimming with this machine!

it's hard-wired to the unit.

Thanks, I learned that before I bought this one with the 8" coil, which is what I wanted. I've taken the coil off the clevis and wrapped the lower stem as directed in the instructions. I was afraid to detach the coil wire leading to the control box, so I removed the coil (not the wire) from the clevis in order to not ruin anything. The coil wire is hot-wired and I didn't compromise it. Removing the coil from the clevis worked well, with just a little effort. Now to find something to hunt....
