Question ?

goldennugget

New member
:detecting: Does anybody know how much better the GMT would be in finding gold nuggets (big & small) compared to my old GOLDMASTER II? I would appreciate your comments.

Thank you Larry

Howdy Larry; Short answer is YES its much better than the old goldmaster you will find much smaller gold and it will go deeper. for mine I have two coils i use the larger one fer the deeper large nuggets and the smaller one for just finding a place to hunt. If you go with the gmt you wont be sorry.
mine is the GM/4b

Iv'e been using a GM2 with some luck , now this is my back up unit to a Minelab.
When using the GoldMaster 2 on mineralised ground you need to keep ground balancing it over & over as you move over this ground, it seems to change so often, the reason being to try & smooth out all those little signals you hear in the threshhold.

Now I,m not telling you what to do as your finding gold already, what I find is the old GM2 is a great detector if used correctly.

Digging the soft sounds gave me a 5 to 1 ratio on small gold in one area  thats one little nugget to five bits of junk.
The iron grunk signal is useless on small bits I find.

Love to get a Goldmaster 3 as no one wants to sell them

Bobby.

I am finding match head size gold and even lead shot, I guess if it is that sensitive I don't need a new detector after all.

Hi Larry,

You said it ! your finding them that small ( me too ) the Goldmaster 2 will perform if understood.

Go GoldMaster 2 :crylol: a great machine.

Bobby.

Larry, the GMT vastly outperforms the Goldmaster II. The GMT goes deeper, finds smaller nuggets, handles "bad" ground MUCH better, has a vastly better SAT circuit, has 1000:1 ground balance resolution (rather than 40:1 on the GM II) has th option of automatic, manual, or instant ground balancing, I can go on and on. If you live near Salt Lake City, be sure to drop my booth at the GPAA Gold Show this weekend, and I'll demo the chest mount GMT for you. HH jim

Hi Jim,

Liked your input regarding the gaines of the newer GMs.
As you said the latest GM 's go deeper & can find smaller gold.:

Can you tell me how much deeper & how smaller the gold ? sorry for being so forward .

Regards Bobby

Bobby you meant to send mail to Jim about the depth and size of gold. I am Larry you might check and see if you can find his reply and respond from there.
