Question

they provide the same detecting performance. I have an Eagle Spectrum and a newer XLT and i can't tell the difference between the two except the Eagle is heavier having "C" cells batteries. If there are differences between the models it's minor and not worth a bit of concern. HH Bill

Too often throughout the branding of names by manufacturers in this hobby we have seen multiple use of certain names that has caused confusion. In this case it is the use of the work "Spectrum."

White's programmable, LCD screened model was the Eagle.

That evolved into the Eagle Spectrum, a new model.

The Eagle Spectrum was replaced by the Spectrum XLT, which was a new model.

The Spectrum XLT is still with us, but about six years ago it was only renamed the XLT E-series. Same model with a different name.

If you have any questions about the XLT which I might be able to help answer, feel welcome to drop me an E-mail: MonteVB@comcast.net

XLT is a little lighter, has a short coil cord, has four programs that you can name and save( spectrum 2) has the ability to change the screen for different lighting uses a different battery system but for all purposes just about the same detector workwise...as Monte has stated...
