I’ve got a question about the stability of the X1-Probe. I’ve been following a lot of the advice on this forum, so I’ll keep this quick and to the point. I usually hunt in manual mode with the sensitivity set at 28. Is it normal for the X1-Probe to give false signals and act unstable in manual mode? When I switch it to semi-auto, it runs perfectly smooth. Is this just how it’s supposed to work, maybe a trade-off for greater depth, or could there be an issue with my X1-Probe? Thanks for any insights!

If I read this right when you use the X1 probe after you locate the signal with the Explorer then go to pinpoint and use the X1 probe it is not too stable if the detector is set on manual, but in semi auto it sounds OK.
The reason for this is in manual it sees more including interference if the sensitivity is set too high, but in semi auto it adjust the sensitivity to a smoother threshold.
Now if it false in semi auto and manual then there maybe the cable in that runs to the probe and it would be hard to pinpoint then you probably have a bad wire in the probe.
myself I notice that those probes made for the Explorer series were touchier than those on my other detector with the SunRay probes and had to turn down the sensitivity of the detector. One more thing is when I used the probe on my Explorers I switch my detector to pinpoint when I went to pinpoint my target, so it was all metal.
