Why do I only see posting about the 1350 and the 2500, and never the 1500, are the 1350 and 1500 the same machine? I have a 1500, and like it fine actually it's the only mach I have ever owned . How does it stack up against the 1350 or the 2500?
Thanks Rudy

Funny, for months all I ever saw was postings about the 250. Nobody was talking about the 1350 and it was frustrating since I had purchased one. Now everyone knows a little more about the 1350 and are talking more about it. Except for maybe Bill (OR) I think most people would say that the 1350 is as good a machine as the 1500. I think Bill likes his 1500 and has tested just about all of the Garretts.

Well, the GTP 1350 is new, so it automatically gets lots of coverage on the forum, as people have lots of questions, and I have posted most of my hunts with it. They are different...well sort of. The GTP 1350 is a watered down version of the GTI 1500. It only has 3 sizes whereas the GTI 1500 has 5 different sizes. Also, the way the electronics calculate the sizing are way different too. From my experience, both different types of sizing work equally well. The GTI 2500 still gets lots of coverage, because it is the top of the line machine Garrett produces for land hunting, and therefore has more options. There is a longer learning curve with the GTI 2500, so people who get one tend to hang around the forums longer asking questions. It's a great machine once tamed. The GTI 1500 has been around for a long time.....lots of people own one. Ever notice why there are so few posted for sale??? Because they are a great machine and every one hangs on to them.

Hope this helps Rudy......

Thanks for the answer, for a while I was confused about the whole thing as I thought that the 1500 was probably a newer machine than the 1350. Anyway am happy with my 1500 and thats the important part. Thanks again for answers

Except for imaging and profiling the machines are identical. The 1500 is one of the best coinshooters ever made. For coinshooting the 1500 will hold its own with the 2500 ( with the 2500 having an edge in depth ) but in all other aspects it will come up lacking. The 2500 is Garrett's top dog so you can't expect the 1500 to equal it.

I talked about the 1350 way back when I tested the prototype and then the production model. I'll try to discuss it more in the future. The 250 garnered all the press because it was such a phenomenon for the price and everyone fell in love with it. It even caught Garrett by surprise and they had problems meeting the demand. It's like any new toy for the boys. :)

The 1350 is every bit as good as the 1500 as they are identical machines aside for their respective methods of sizing targets. The profiling on the 1350 is just a simplified version of imaging and works just as well for general use and requires no special coils to perform the profiling

I actually have no real preference as I like all my Garretts. I might have to give the nod to the 250 simply because it is so much fun to use I guess I forget after I've tested a detector and reported on it that people still want to continue to hear about it so guess I'll have to get on the ball and toot the horn for the 1350 . Just because it isn't being discussed often doesn't mean it is lacking in anything.
