I was hunting with the Exp. ll today, still trying to learn it, and was getting some good sounding tones that sounded like clad dimes or quarters, but the cross hairs showed down low, pegged to the right. Somewhere around 00-02 to 00-04. What is going on there? Thanks.
 
and you are using the Ferrous sound mode. What you can do is go into the Edit screen and black out the bottom right corner of the screen to discriminate out the crown caps or switch over to the Conduct sound mode which will give the crown caps a low tone.
 
Pewter will cause a reading of 00/00 to 00/2 or so depending on how badly it is decayed. I find old jar lids that are composed of pewter and heavy white glass that read there as well as pewter buttons. I have also found some large piece of metal that look like very thick small cooking pots or even a large container with a reading in this area. I guess it would be the old buttons at a CW site that would be of interest for the most part. I don
