Do u guys think the 3030 will perform as well as the excalibur in saltwater??

I'd check out GraveDiggerMax's videos and PM him. He's got lots of experience with both machines. From what I've seen, the CTX does as well as the Excal II and would think it would go deep being a FBS machine and the Excal BBS.

What he said! Holler if you have any questions!

IMHO it does go deeper than the excal but when out in the water it can be a bit chattery. Going in and out of the shallow surf has been ok. I am still trying out different settings for actually wading in the surf. The excal is definitely easier to quiet down, just turn down the sensitivity until it is stable. I am getting closer on settings with the ctx that allow me to keep the sensitivity up but still be stable.
As stated above check out GraveDiggerMax's post here, hunts exclusively on the beach in the wet and surf, as he calls it "the lane"

I have over 78 hrs hunting the beach and I have not dug anything I would not have dug with the Excalibur. All my targets have been shallow not more than 3 scoops, 16 inches on some deep quarters. these were only found with a slow sweep and very very slow pace. They chrip and when homed in on they were fairly loud. .If you were walking with any speed they would have been missed. I was hunting combined tones open screen. I have taken the time to explore with targets. Some times they hit better with less sensitivity. Thats not always the case some get better with more. It could be the angle the target was at along with depth.Really don't have enough time on this type machine.
