i need information , i think that im going tu buy an x terra 705 , can i choose the coil ??? and if i can which one is the best thanks

Depends on the type of hunting you will do. For big parks and open spaces, I would suggest the 10.5 DD HF. For scrap laden spots, I would suggest the 6"DD HF.

I would get the 705 gold it comes with 2 coils
1 for coins 1 for gold
you would be all set

The gold pack comes with one coil 10x5 DD HF coil I just purchased mine abbot three weeks ago and i do love it. I would not say there is a best because they are all suited for different things/specialties if you go to minelabs web site it explains the coils very well but I believe we have our personal favorites that are on our MD most of the time right now my favorite is the 5x10 DD HF because it's the only one I have used so far, I want to learn my MD and coil before trying other coils.

They usually come with a 9 inch coil or 5x10 coil. Both are good . I have a 6 inch dd , 9 inch 7.5khz, 9inch 18.75 , and 10.5 inch 7.5 coil. I like them all for different things.

Although Minelab dealers purchase the product with one of two "stock coils" (9-inch concentric at 7.5 kHz or the DD ellliptical at 18,.75 kHz) it is up to the dealer whether or not they will sell the detector with a different coil. So that is something you'll need to work out with your dealer as they are under no (contractual) obligation to do so. As many have said, each of us have different preferences for coil choice, depending on where we hunt and the treasure we seek. If you live in an area with high levels of mineralization, DD coils will perform better than concentric. Smaller coils separate targets better than larger coils. Larger coils generally have greater depths of detection. Concentric coils will TID more accurately in moderate soil. Some coils are waterproof and others are water-resistant. JMHO HH Randy

Hi,
I purchased the Gold pack in January this year. The only coil the Gold Pack comes with is the 9.5 x 5.5 inch coil, operating on 18.75khz.
This coil is NOT waterproof but only water resistant - meaning it can not be submerged under water - but can be splashed or dragged through damp grass.
I have not found any gold with this setup as yet but we have burried some small nuggetts to a depth of 5 inches & they were picked up OK.

I have found this coil/detector setup an excellent unit on coins. I quite regulary go out & detect parks. Often detecting over $50 in a couple of hours if I choose the park correctly.

I am dying to get my hands on the new 15inch Coiltek coil for this detector. I think it would be great for the beaches though not real good for parks due to multiple targets appearing under the coil at once. I have found that this leads to a lot of frustration for people new to detecting.

I know you will be more than happy with the X-Terra 705 - it is a great detector.

Best regards,
Gary.
