hi don't know nutin', iv'e heard of some folks who use 'em and like them. the older i get, the more attractive the thing looks! i dunno if they're a hassle to remove or not. i've never used one myself, but i'm sure someone on here has. hh!
 
I suspect your asking about the, 'swingy thingy'? I used one one my MXT with a DX-1 probe and the Super 12 coil. It felt funny at first but, once you get it adjusted properly and focus on your swing it's pretty good. Mine came with a small clip that attached to a ring you installed on the detector shaft. Also small clips for hooking on to your belt loops. I removed the small clips and bought some cheapie carabiners. Much easier to work with than the small clips.
