I have XS with a 5" coil I have it in iron mask
-10 was wondering if it is better to use the manual sens or auto?

I have been and always will be of the opinion that manual is the way to go. If nothing else, you know what the Explorer is doing.
I will say that there are quite a few very successful Explorer XS users that run 32-auto and rarely change it. So it can be a matter of personal preference, but I personally feel like the Explorer gets too conservative in trashy areas.
Anyhow, just run the sensativity up until you start to loose the threshold constantly, then back off a level or two.

Use manual, and try lowering iron mask at least to -12.. with the 6 inch coil you can run up the sensitivity quite high without much falsing..
