Has anyone bought a new T2 within the last two or three months? If so, could you be experiencing the same problem I am? I bought a new one and had to send it back and they sent me another one today and it is doing the same thing. The problem I am having is when it Id's something in the "70's" it shows a backward "J" (the left number only) when it first comes up. Then it turns into a seven. Do a re sweep and it does the same thing again. I spoke with Dave Johnson today. He told me that they have changed their supplier of their LCD Screen. They are using a different supplier than they used in the past. He told me he was not certain, but that he does not think the letter "J" should come up at all. He said it could be some sort of LCD Screen issue. He hoped not. If it is, there is a lot of new ones out there with this problem. If you have a new one and it does this with you, let me know. Thanks.

I belive I replied to you about this in an earlier post Dirttrax.I had one doing the same thing last week and it was shipped straight from the factory because of warranty issues with one I had purchased the same week..I was hyped up on the new coil coming and bought a new one to utilize the new offering and get a chance to see what I always thought would be the ultimate set-up...t2-small coil yeah!!!!

I dont believe I will be finding out what I've always wanted to know since the release of the t-2.... After 2 bad ones in one week and some earlier issues about 2 years ago with my first t-2....( the lower box circuit board under the arm rest was not soldered to the wires coming from the control box board causing the machine to cut on and off .they had stuck the wires through the holes on the board and tinned the wires but didnt solder them so they were flopping so I soldered them my self for that fix) I belive I will stay clear for now ..

I hate it because the the t-2 is a great detector but it is what it is...I dont know and I may be wrong but if Dave Johnson said they were using a different lcd or part of a different nature then there is a rea$on behind it ..

Im not knocking the machine it found me plenty 2 years ago but at 800.00 I have to be careful with my purchases..maybe its just a small batch and they can correct the problem if it is the problem and you'll be good to go..

I find problems with lots of detectors..heck I get a few brand new ones from ever manufacturer thats got to be replaced but 2 in the same week for me and different issues at that makes me hold the brakes on....Hope this is'nt the sign of the recession were in..

Good luck with the t-2 its a great machine that could be better..(but alot of detectors can be better)

If you want to P.M me I will tell you what I think about the industry as a whole in what Ive seen in the last couple of years...

Heck its not just metal detectors...good luck dirttrax hope it finds you a bunch.

HERE IS A LITTLE VIDEIO OF WHAT MY NEW T2 IS DOING. I HAVE TRIED 2 IN THE LAST WEEK BOTH ARE DOING THIS. THANKShttp://www.youtube.com/user/stinkfot

doesn't really look like a j, looks more like an 0 looks on a time and temperature sign when some of the lights are out. the video moved so fast i couldn't really tell if it was the same # that it ended up on or maybe something else in the ground.

I've seen dirttrax's T2 do this in person,it's not anything in the ground.Had my T2 go over the same object and it wouldn't do what his is doing
