Question: When did Fisher Research Labs start having some of their metal detectors assembled in Taiwan?.....................

I just noticed a Fisher 1225 that has a sticker that states "Assembled in Taiwan." I checked my CZ-3D and it does not have that sticker on it. Kelley (Texas) :)

that the two lower priced metal detectors, the 1212 and 1225 were the only ones being assembled in Taiwan. Kelley (Texas) :)

Hi Kelly,

Trick answer! Did they mention the 1236-X2 being assembled in China. No, I'm not kidding. So now the question is how many are assembled in Taiwan (you got that answer) and how many assembled in China.

Or more to the point... how many are no longer assembled in the United States?

Wonder how many other brands are made in other countries, or made with parts manufactured in other countries...I suspect that Fisher is not the only one that has done this. :)

Kelly,
I can't think of any unit that does NOT have parts that are built in other countrys. Finding USA only parts would be VERY VERY expensive for the manuf. So I would be safe in saying all do.

Sen.Carl Levin D Michigan said we are losing too many manufacturing jobs in the U.S. and we can't have everyone working in the technology industry. (computers) We need to be a manufacturer of goods to support our economy. Ron @General Motors
