Question. What does everyone do with their great Etrac finds?

I'm just wondering what everyone here does with their finds. Do you sell them? Put them in coin cards and display them? Safety deposit box? Throw them all in a box and hide them under the bed? I'm sure there are some very interesting answers.

Mine just go in a plastic box. Eventually I'd like to make a display with some of the finds. Another thing I might do is to pick an area on our land where I can "re-see" some of the coins for my kids and future grandkids can hunt. We're pretty sandy soil here, so the coins seem to "age" real well.

The precious metal finds are squirreled away in a safety deposit box. Have pictures of all my better finds if i want to look at em.

What to do with all the clads is the question.
Probably have thousands of clads found over the last couple years-too many to count. And dozens of medals, tags, tokens, fobs, keys, toys, etc.
To give an idea of those clads, here's a group picture of my 2012 finds, haven't got around to take a group pic of my 2013 finds but there's almost as much clads.

Maybe some day i'll get around to sorting them all out. I'll probably toss the corroded zinc pennies. They're all in the basement somewhere in plastic containers.
Sorting those finds and even metal detecting are a low priority right now, too many projects and chores in the works.

I put all my good coins in antique jar. My clads in a bigger jar and my interesting finds yet in another. Ive only had the Etrac exactly 3 weeks today and have found 14 silver coins. Another post will show my latest finds including a Civil War era staff official military button. I am totally amazed with this machine and ill probably continue to say that as long as I'm using it.

I like to leave my latest/coolest stuff out so I can look at it whenever im in the house. i keep a few things out and then eventually put it away.

I put all my dug silver coins in 2X2 flips and all silver and gold jewelry goes into plastic containers. My other cool stuff goes into a bigger plastic container and all the other stuff I think is savable goes into yet another plastic container. My clad coins go into a big jar, which is already 1/2 full from this year and towards the end of the year I'll fire up my two tumblers for as long as it takes to clean it all and take it to the bank and use it for a set of headphones, a coil, or whatever I think I need at the time. Last year I had around 250.00 in clad.

Maybe one of these days i'll get around to tumbling them.
But like i mentioned its a bottom of the list low priority, which in my case means it might never get done.

Tempted to see if i can donate them to some charity or something as is. If they'll even take em!

I only I put all my best finds in a lighted curio cabinet.
I put the newer coins or types of coins that I've found a lot of in Harris coin folders - Indians, Wheats up to State Quarters - have approx. (700) of these coins in about (15) folders.
Just tumble and spend all the clad if I don't need that date / mint mark for one of the folders.
I only collect the coins that I've found with my machine.

This is only the third week with the Etrac. Maybe ill have to get a safety deposit box by the end of the year if I meet my goals. Lol. I envision gold, silver and key dates this year. I'm finding out that with this machine it is certainly achievable. I also admire the idea of having them in a coin book. That would be awesome to show to my grand kids. Plus it would be an investment into their futures. This is a great hobby!

My detecting buddy was an advertising exec before he retired and moved to New Mexico. Whenever one of us makes a really good find, he makes a plaque for it. Sometimes he even Photoshop's our faces into them. Pretty cool, huh?

The plaques are really nice, and a great way to display/explain your really cool finds!

Most of my finds will eventually be sold on Ebay to put something back into the detecting fund. Everywhere I may go detect, is at least 20 miles. My fuel cost is my biggie, as far as detecting expense. I gotta get some of that back somehow, selling the goodies will help.

ive only sold 2 finds. i collect everything i find besides the scrap. i keep all my finds organized in plano fishing lure cases, works really good

Decided I'm going to display my finds in coin holders in plastic pages with three ring binder. This way I can show them to family and Friends. Although I'm getting enough items that i think I will store them in my safe.
