Question......to everyone

i cant help noticing that MANY look at posts but only a handful do post...is it because some do not know how to post pictures? no digital camera? or something else like too technical site? or ?

Its important that the site moderator knows --- whatever it is...if he is not made aware, it cant be fixed (if there is fixing to do)

No technical knowledge is required to have an opinion or input about a post/picture.........how about it?

I just figured people were so dumbfounded after seeing all the cool photos here that they couldn't find it in themselves to post anything.

Probably many aren't the picture taking type, or they aren't sure how to post a picture.

im of the thought that its a combination of things but im just guessing and i hate that...

Or, say a post has maybe 6 to 10 replies, they think, what could someone else say, that hasn't already been said.....or, maybe they don't want any possible confrontation on a reply or post. Just throwing it out there.

my obvservation is that in the post that i started there were so far 16 people that read it and 2 responses....so that may not be the reason and i cant see this forum as being confrontational..

granted there is only so much one can say but a simple  or :clapping: or :super: would be ok too...

however we wont know anything unless someone that does not post tells us....im here because i ve always like photography and nothing more

This Forum is a fun forum and there is no political posting allowed. In regards to folks having a fuss on this forum, I haven't seen one in several years. That being said, human nature being what it is, I am confident that somewhere down the pike there might be one, and if so, we will handle it in a mature, fair minded, and thoughtful manner. At this time, we have four or five nice, interesting folks posting from time to time and I really can not imagine any of them having a confrontation.

It would be nice if more folks would post a picture or post a reply when a picture is posted. If you are just starting out in photography, this is a nice place to post as you will be among friends.

Any suggestions would be most welcomed and we would like to see this Forum grow. Kelley (Texas) :)

one of my pet peeves is a topic that does not at least have one reply, but relize people get busy also, I like the care free lay back style of this forum

I cant disagree with anything you said.....of course the ones who responded to my original post are not the targeted readers........lets hear it from the rest of the forum members....inquiring minds need to know.(i stole that line)

I have been a frequent visitor and contributor to this Forum in the past year, specially when I read Fred was the Host. It is great to be able to post your photographs and a little something about how, when, you shot it, and sometimes the equipment used.... I shoot photos for the interest of the subject matter, or if it is something unusual....I am not looking to be a professional , but quite happy as an Armature .....no sense in having a hobby or taking photos if you can't share them with others...
Any Forum needs contribution form its Viewers, even if it a select few.... A Forum feeds of its contributors... No one is really counting the gawkers who may look ,but do not contribute. It is of course unfortunate to have ten or a hundred views, and only a few comments...but really that is not what a Forum is about...it can be discouraging.....
It pains me dearly,to see the Tales Forum above, dying out.. There was a hard core of contributors , and a terrific amount of viewers without comments... We had a lot of cyber Friends , but life changes as we get older... The previous Administrator was strong and a leader...but he let it get to him, that a Post, may only get a handful of responses, but a hundred non posting views....
A Forum, such as Fred's is to help each share photos or help each other with our own experience with a Camera...not to count replies or views... If one Viewer was able to improve his photography do to a posting he or she read, then so be it! If Fred doesn't have an answer, for a question, there appears to be plenty of viewers that will certainly help out..
Yup, there is a lot of Viewers....less response's.... Do not let it bother you. Enjoy the Forum!

I personally enjoy shooting waterfront, Vessels, Lighthouse and Coast Guard related.... Of all the posts read, never had a negative comment relating to anyone posting here ..

i fully agree with your post ...of course the bottom line is not about the numbers but they are hard to ignore.

information about the Coast Guard. Thanks for all the contributions that you have made to this Forum. Kelley (Texas) :)
