Question regarding the CTX

unearth

Member
Is the waterproof screw adapter that's inside the headphone module, to make the unit waterproof, a standard size part that may be purchased somewhere other than Minelab?

Not sure on what you mean....please be a little more specific?

I don't know but it should be easy enough to figure out.

Inside the headphone module there is a plastic screw that you use to make the ctx totally waterproof. This plastic screw, screws on to the 8 pin connection for the headphones that is on the detector. Since Minelab doesn't sell any parts, I called them and they said "we don't sell parts", I was wondering if this is a common 8 pin connection unit on the ctx. If so, can the waterproof screw cover be found at a local hardware store or electronics store?
I haven't lost mine, as Smack jokingly said also, but it's a small piece and it doesn't screw into the headphone module, it's just pushed into place. I think it could easily fall out and not be noticed that it had.

It is not used to keep the CTX headphone plug waterproof. It aready is. It is used to keep sand and dirt out when the machine is used in water without the headphones. Any plastic cap the fits the connector will probably do the same thing.
