Is ther a way, short of taking your nuggetts or gold rings
into an expert, to test your gold and silver at home to see how
pure it is? Is there like a kit or something?

Get a small bottle of nitic acid like the jewelers use to test gold ( Ask a friendly jeweler or coin shop) . Cut a tiny divot in the item with a file, put a drop of acid on it, the more it fizzles/bubbles/turns green, the less pure gold it is.If it sits there and does nothing, the better the the gold value.Caution !!! Nitric acid is not to be fooled around with tho, can burn your skin, keep away from kids for sure..... I think they have electronic gold and diamond testers on Ebay. Also, something called Gold Needles to test gold purity.Look on YouTube perhaps.

Thank you.
I should have thought of this before I posted the question but
I went to google and typed in gold and silver testing kits. YouTube
had some videos showing how to use them. A plus was, there were
videos also showing how to determine FAKE silver coins. I am
truely amazed how many fakes there are out there and how many
low lifes engage in such activity! I had considered buying silverrobt2300
and gold when the prices got lower but now I am reconsidering the idea.

Thanks again.

It is more amazing how much work some will puts in to avoid working.

Specific gravity requires no chemicals or damage to jewelry or nuggets, hope this works as not posted pics here, will try-John figures file too big sorry
