Question on Whites Maxima 1500 coil

Would this coil function somewhat like the WOT coil for the explorer detectors or is it just for bigger items. In other words is it sensitive to smaller coin sized targets or just bigger targets.
I thought about trying one on my xl pro if it will go deeper on coins.
 
Its a heavy coil and not intended as a coin hunter. You also pick up a deal more ground effect which cancels out some of the extra depth you would think a larger coil would give.
I liked the Hotshot (not Hothead) which does give more depth on coins and relics alike but I've only used it on the Spectrum range.
