Question on uploading a picture?

jim cluster

New member
I tried to upload a single picture picture but the message said nothing bigger than 460 something. The picture I tried is in the mid 900's. How does one post a simple photo when all the pictures are above the mid 400 range?

There is different sizes to choose from on a Digital Camera. Just pick the smallest one (usually it will say something like 1200 x 600) and then try and download that. On Scanners, you can have a large pic and then downsize it to 12%, at least on my Scanner. It will depend on what kind of Format you use also, like Jpeg, etc. Also, the Resolution can be dropped a bit to save room. Its fairly easy, it just takes a bit at first to figure out just how to get the pic small enough. Someone will answer you question in more detail I'm sure. Can't wait to see what you have been finding. Good Luck and HH.

If you don't have any kind of software on your computer to resize your pics then you can either buy some at store or download free stuff on web...just google "free photo software" and pick which one you like....I believe the size has to be 420KB or smaller....unless they changed it again.....?

Thanks I'll try that, I'm sure somewhere on this thing there's a way to do it, I'll mark down as a learning curve. The Explorer is more fun now to play with, than sitting here getting frustrated.

Here is a link to a resizing website. It's free and very easy to use....just play around with it a bit and you'll get the hang of it. http://quickthumbnail.com

Thanks ccfl, it's easier said than done. I'm wondering why the site has a function for resizing automatically, like some others have.

Do it the easy way jim cluster,

Go to www.photobucket.com

Its free and you can choose what size you want to upload it to!!

Then after the upload, under your pic you will see 3 boxs, pick the last one under your pic, right click the box and it will state copied.

Go to your post and when ready just paste.. Works great!!

Good Hunting!!

I don't have a smooth, EZ solution for photos... I use a two step process.

The HP 4 n 1 came with an accessory package. I use it to crop the pics.

Then I resize them with a shareware program that is adjustable.

You can probably set your camera to save pics in an email sized format.
Mine was saving at full res plus a email sized copy, for some reason...

Here's one I just shrunk, as described.
HH

Oops! That one didn't shrink!
Let me try again...

Thanks everyone for the help, I don't spend enough time on the computer as I should. The detector is now more important, but to post I have to learn to do things. It's frustrating to teach something to someone on the computer.
