question on TX power

Low-Boy/LCPM

Active member
I made some changes on a program and when I went to expert on Sens it was gone so I could not change the TX power what did I do and what does the TX power get set to when I can't change it??

Check out page 38 of the manual: "Power is set to maximum for the 4 kHz frequency. You do not
therefore have access to the Expert menu when you are on this frequency."

If you lost TX settings for a frequency other than 4kHz, then you likely have a software problem.

If you offset any of the other frequencies other than 4 khz it will offset to a TX = 3 setting and is not adjustable. In other words, you can only change TX power while 8, 12, and 18 khz are in the "middle" or default setting.

Menu<Freq<-1 or +1 will always be in TX = 3...but with NO offset TX is adjustable

Well then you run your battery down that way interesting that they did that...

I never hunt in Freq of 4Khz so I will have to go home a do some checking

Great additional info CZ!

There's a recent post somewhere (CT Todd I think?) that indicates the next update may allow us to make TX changes in 4K.

I've used 4K programs a lot and while battery drain does occur quicker, I've always been able to get at least 8 hours. However, one time I was using a custom 12K program for 3-4 hours then bumped TX to 3 and the batter was completely depleted within two hours. I think this was a fluke, but I haven't tried it since.

CZconnoisseur has it right. You can only change TX power while in 8, 12, and 18 khz. In the Expert setting under Sensitivity, and frequency shift must be in the "middle" position or default setting.

Interesting--no Tx adjustment without the coil nearby either.
Expert menu disappears when the remote can't find the coil. No livingroom adjustment without the coil :)
