Question on tone ID's

I am planning on having a CTX by spring. I have an etrac now and use TTF the majority of the time. I am looking forward to the tone id bins on the CTX. Does anyone use lower tones for coins instead of the high tones and having ferrous items high tones. Twenty years ago I was using a Garrettt Master hunter 7 that had a bell tone feature. I had a Deapthmaster signal enhancer in line with the headphones that you could change tones with. I remember having it set up that coins were a low "Boingggggg" that was very easy to distinguish. I am just curious to see if anyone is trying this setup.

Seems like most of the guys here run the opposite of what you posted. But that does'nt mean that you
are wrong in your thinking. You can set the CTX up anyway you want to work for you. I myself like
to hear higher tones for higher targets.

If you like low tone coins that is entirely up to you. Most guys are chasing that high silver sound from the E trac.

My mind is set to bring me to a halt on the high tone so I gave my nickel zone the same high tone. Almost every CTX user I have talked to says that their nickel count has gone up.

When hunting for jewelry I set my high tones up in the pull tab/foil/nickel range and put low tones where zink pennies come in. So I dig less modern clad when ring hunting.... But I also dig tons of trash :)

Look at Gone Huntings CTX program. His is an excellent setup.

Holler with questions or a great deal on one!

I just ordered a 3030 & I'm hoping I can adjust tones for my damaged hearing. Those faint high tones, well that's my hardest sound to hear.

Has anybody tweaked their 3030 so silver is a lower tone?

I personally just run the stock silver program, I have had no reason to change anything. Im afraid if I do it might mess me up! So until I quit finding the good stuff, ill stick with the preloaded programs!
