Question on the vx3

Hello John 71,all detectors will report a gold ring with a range of numbers, not one specific number. Lots of pull tabs fall in the same range of numbers that gold does! Realistically you could expect to dig 100 tabs before a gold ring would be found. Unfortunately, lots of trash items mimic gold HH Tony

OK, you say dig 100 tabs before a ring. That used to be close but it is getting harder to find gold, it has been about 1000 tabs before ring for me. My parks and schools has been hit hard. They are still some out there but trash on top has built up so bad they are hard to come by.

I've found gold rings at VDI 22 - 59 - 47 - 19 - 14 - 9 all with the VX3 ..... average size Rings come in at nickel / squre Tab range, small rings come at foil range.

Large Rings (class rings) come at the zinc range & large silver rings come at quarter range.
Hunting in areas where phiscal activity takes place, is the key to finding the rings.

Hey, Flintstone. I only hunt private homes and old church’s....... not any where near the amount of trash , it got me thinking , 100 is wrong, more like 250 tabs produces 1 ring .I haven’t hunted a park in the last 30 years, but the first 10 I hunted lots of parks and schools.
