Question on the vx3

Anyone using the vx3 . How does it compare to other detector?

Not currently but I did use a VX3 for several months a few years ago. I liked it a little better than the V3i because it was 'simpler' with fewer adjustment features, but worked reasonably well for some of my urban Coin Hunting. I had an original Vision that then morphed into the V3 and V3i and I used three of those but parted with them for several reasons, one was that I liked the VX-3 better as mentioned.

But I also owned several other makes and models when I had those, which was back when I was a White's Master Dealer and had a few White's and some competitive detectors to complement each other.

How does it compare to other detector?

Let me add an 's' to the end of 'detector' in your question because I compare ALL detectors I own or evaluate against several other specimens and not just one single model.. Also, you didn't specify what you wanted 'compared' in the way of performance so I'll just share what I found for my wants and needs for the sites I most typically search.

When I was using the VX3 for Coin Hunting in various big city locations, I also had a White's XLT and XL Pro, MXT Pro, and from the competitive side I had a Teknetics Omega 8000 V.4 and T2, Tesoro Bandido II [size=small]micro[/size]MAX and a couple of other units. I preferred almost all of the other Target ID models over the VX3 because some provided better depth-of-detection and/or tighter TID 'lock-on' than the VX3.

Also, the VX3 had an annoying need for a hesitation at the end of a sweep before you made a reverse sweep. If you didn't you might not get a target response on a nearby target as you start the reverse sweep. I evaluated than annoyance and compared similar sweep speeds and techniques with all my detectors and that was one thing I didn't like about the VX3.

Then there was hunting in my typically dense-debris/iron-trash challenged sites and that is where the VX3, like the V3's I had tried before, just didn't work as well for me as my preferred models. I even did better with my XLT w/6½" Concentric coil than I did in those tough sites with the VX3 w/6½" Concentric, but neither performed on the level that the MXT Pro did with the same coil I used on the VX3. My Tesoro's, the Tek. T2 w/5" DD, and the MXT Pro and MX-5, which I got just prior to parting with my VX3, all easily out-performed the higher-dollar device.

Today, in White's current offering of metal detectors, for me and all the challenging trashy sites I hunt, I consider the MXT All-Pro and MX-7, as well as MX Sport, to be their better all-purpose detectors. That's one reason I have two MX-7's in my Regular-Use Detector Team because they have been working very well for me, both in Relic Hunting applications as well as for my urban Coin & Jewelry Hunting.

To be clear, there are many detectors out there that might or might not fit the wants and needs of different individuals, so it might be that the VX3 would be something of interest to you and others. It just didn't click with me for where I like to go most of the time and I would use anything in my currency detector battery instead of a VX3. But that's just me.

Since we can not compare other brands on this forum, I have to assume the other detector is the V3i. To the best of my knowledge, the VX3 is the same detector as the V3i but it has a limited menu on many of the advanced features.

For coin & jewelry hunting - park's - soccer fields - ball fields - vx3 all day long!

dead on pinpointing - accurate vdi numbers - accurate depth readings - Goes plenty deep for that type of hunting.
