Once you get used to the motion pinpoint you will find it works better then no motion pinpoint. In the all metal pinpoint it actually makes the actual coin signal smaller and easy to pinpoint with. These have double D coils so it will be hot the lenght of the coil so when you go over the signal and find the loudest area it can be anywhere from the toe to the heal of the coil. With this confuses many and have a hard time pinpointing as they are used to a concentric coil. There is several ways to pinpoint and I use them both with excellent results. One is get the signal in disc and see the area it is in, now switch to all metal pinpoint and go side to side over it with the coil and narrow it down with the sweeps so you are just going over that target and start bringing the coil back to you while going side to side until the signal starts to disappear and that target will be on the tip of the coil now. I now see where it is and come at it from a different angle and do the same thing just to make sure it is in that area. The second which I use on deeper and iffy signal is get the signal in disc, switch to all metal pinpoint and just go side to side and center the targets. Push the coil to the ground and turn 90 degrees and then go side to side again and where it is the loudest the target will be in the very center of the coil if did right. Now if it was a iffy signal which are the deep ones I will push the coil to the ground and switch back to disc and slightly move the coil and if it nulls it is probably iron, but if the tones start to climb it is probably a good target. With the Sovereign you can swing the coil too fast, but not too slow as the slightest movement will make it work.
