Question on Tejon

Tesoro has advertised that the the Tejon has Adjustable Audio Tone Control. Does this mean I can adjust the type of tone or just the volume of the response? Does it mean I can run with the machine giving off a slight hum/noise, whatever, and the sound will change in character and volume when I encounter something or do I still have to run in a no noise until I encounter something mode?

The tone control when clicked into the extreme CCW position gives you a standard tone with VCO pinpointing. Turning CW from this point gives you a choice of tones from 210 hz to 830 hz. I love this because I hear the high tones better. You will only be able to hunt with an audible threshold in the all metal mode. The 2 disc modes are silent search. Also there is a point on the tone control around the 3:00 o'clock position where it is easier to hear the crackle-rough edge sound of larger iron. Hope this helps some.

It is important to remember that if you click out of the VCO and into the tone adjust you get the same response in all metal and disc. The VCO normally used for all metal pinpoint no longer functions. Of course it is simple to go back to it for pinpointing or hunting in all metal. Just don't forget.
