Question on tejon air test

(I realize air testing just helps in having confidence in a detector)I have owned 4 tejons..the first was a extremely hot detector.. 2nd and 3rd were a disappointment... This last one is a very hot detector..(air testing) anyway..my question is has anyone tested there tejon and found the discrimination mode/side testing way deeper than the all metal side...this tejon I have now is showing disc. Way hotter than all metal ..always thought AM was the hotter side... Thanks. joe

I haven't air tested disc vs. all metal, but can say that swing speed of the coin makes a real difference in air test results. It likes a faster swing speed for sure. I am probably telling you something you already know, but be sure to test on the bottom side of the coil and stay in the center of the coil because it is a concentric coil and that is it's deepest point.

It's all in how they are set up in the gb on the disc side. Fortunately you can gb in disc gett great additional depth.

Can't hardly to get that 5x10 dd coil and the ground thaws up here in northern Michigan.

Hello JD,
yes, had this on another brand detector where all people mentioned the all metal no ID was a LOT deeper than the motion ID mode (NOT pinpointing).
But in AM I only got 10" on a dime while in motion ID the dime rings in at 11.5 inches.

So yes, motion ID mode can be deeper on some detectors.
