Question on Scorpion-problem?

Pyledriver

I just picked up a Scorpion for a good deal! I'm learning the machine but have noticed that the threshold tone is not a totally smooth tone, but rather has some little blips and such as I'm operating the detector. It really seems like low level noise. This happens whether I'm actually swinging or just letting it sit. I've done air tests and a few 'garden' tests and the thing sounds off great when a target is presented. I'm just not sure why that tone isn't smooth? Is this normal or do I have a problem? I plan on this either being a backup or maybe selling it on my way up the food chain of detectors and would like to be sure it's 'good to go' for either scenario!

Thanks!

I just talked to the folks at Garrett and I'm told that this unit is sensitive to electrical interference. I'll take it out to the country tomorrow and see what happens!

That makes sense Pyledriver. I have been racking my brain over your problem and that's the only one that makes sense to me.:clapping::garrett:

Mine does it too, just the nature of the beast. I used to have 2 of them (sold one) and they both sounded the same. One of Garretts better machines IMHO!!

Well good! I'm gonna be hitting some spots at sunup tomorrow and we'll see what we get!!! First time in a long time I've actually looked FORWARD to the 5:30am alarm...

You can try turning down the AUDIO which will also turn down the sensitivity, which should make it run more stable. Do this in AUTO mode.
