Question on pinpoint sound

Is the pinpoint sound just a low buzz or is it supposed to have a tone.

If its a real deep coin you may get a distorted buzz that may be off target a little as its hard to pinpoint them in the pinpoint mode. When I run into this I just pinpoint in disc and that usually works.

so I always use it in the normal disc mode, learned how with my SOV. and seems to work beter in the trash areas I hunt in.
I just couldn't remember how it sounded since I had only used it once when showing the dealer how the machine worked, (he had no clue as to how good this machine is)

I only get the buzzy sound with deep coins. shollow coins give a good sound when in pinpoint. I always use pinpoint ( I know a lot of guys dont). What I do is back off the signal until I think I'm off it then push pinpoint and more forward. When the tone cones I move a little sideways both ways to make sure I'm centered over the target, then more forward until the sound goes away. next I pull it back past the signal again then move forward until I hear the sound again. I stop then and its under the first E where it says explorer on the coil sticker. Yours may be different , but thats how I do it and I can hit most targets on the first couple of probes.
Hope this helps.
