Question on hunting with H.O.T. circuit machines. Opinions wanted.

Well after completing my cibola, wondering how you gents hunt with your cibola, vaq, tej machines.
When hunting with my tesoros, I set disc just above iron, then when I get a signal I disc up slowly to try and guess what it is. Then go back down the where I started to pinpoint (X on compadre, pinpoint in AM with those that have it)

Just curious about others styles with the HOT circuitry and if it differs.
Thanks!!

So much trash in some of the areas I've been looking lately, that I used to start out between foil and nickel, then turn disc up & down again up to see where it breaks up. Lately I've just wanted to clear out shallow coins first, so have been setting to just accept zincolns and higher. Figure after that, I'll go back with a lower disc again and have another look. Been doing this with the small dd coil, as not only is there lots of trash, the soil is quite mineralized. Small coil works well on the Vaquero and probably will on a modded Cibola. ^_^

Awesome thanks!!
If the area is too trashy I'll adopt your idea of cherry picking high then rehunt later lower disc.

yeah not a knob twiddler figure by the time I've done that the targets out, but I am not adverse to setting my disc at tab or 1c depending on detector and digging the higher stuff out.

if I think there is gold at a site I will do that take as much of the zinc and up out 1st, then disc down otherwise like pinenut said it can just become overwhelming.

so yeah its not a race if working over a spot for gold, if clad/silver hunting life is a bit more mellow

I let the site dictate to me how I hunt I need to be adaptable and be willing to change plans on the run.
