Question on Headphone adapter

Active member
I have one on my AT Pro have mainly land hunted but now getting in to water hunting with it and since I only have the one AT it has the adapter because I use different headphones than the stock ones I also have the waterproof ones from Garrett My question is will water hurt the adapter I have the plug to cover one end but not the end where the phones plug into I have thought about getting some type of Plastic insert to temporarily push into the hole of the plug anyone else have an Idea or ever had a problem getting the adapter wet I run the cable under the foam handle as instructions show and feel it would be a hassle to keep having to switch each time sorry for be long post looking for Ideas on this for quick change over maybe Thanks for any help

I'm pretty sure you don't wanna get it wet, but I'm not sure it would hurt anything if it got a little damp. You might try some finger stalls. You can get them at the drug store, kinda like little condoms for your fingers, and they usually come in a pack with various sizes. I use them when I get cuts on my fingers and I don't want lake germs to get them infected.

Thanks BC I think I am just going to remove it from under the foam handle and rig me a guick release for it when I want to water hunt until I can afford to get another AT Pro or a set of Amphibians

Even though it is a pain to do so, removing the adapter is the best thing to do. You be taking a change of damaging the adapter. It would probably be OK if you stayed in shallow water, around knee deep or less. Assuming you could stay on you feet in the surf.

Thanks I am going to do a little thinking on it an figure out a quicker way to swap headphone usage but right now have removed the adapter completely cause I am going to change the foam grip out to a rubber grip as well and also incorparate some type of quick release on the handle to stow the adapter cord so it will not be a nusiance while land hunting . Until I can buy a set of the Grey Ghost Amphibians I have a set of Garrett easy stow head Phones I use Land hunting cause they are more Comfortable
