Question on GTI 2500

Is $535.00 a good price for a used 2500. Don't know how old it is, but I guess I just bought it. It comes with carry bag and looks like a cheap set of ear phones. Another ebay item but all my detectors came from ebay and all proved to be great machines. Just wondering if I cut a good deal on this one. HH

I think for a little more, you will get a brand new 2500 with the new stock imaging coil and 2 years of warranty. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get a decent set of headphones with an in line volume control. The one you are looking at is average priced. Get the serial #, call Garrett and they can tell you when the machine was made.

Garrett makes some great detectors. The price you paid I don't think is out of line. Play with it and have some fun. I have 1 from around 2000. It's fun. You don't see very many 2500 for resale.

By the way I got a bag with mine. But it did not take me very long to find out that you can't find very much if you leave it in the bag.
Go out do some digging and have fun. If in trashy areas use the 4 and haft coil. Hunting the great out doors us the 12 in coil. But the whatever get out hunt and have fun.

Thanks Bill for the info. I mostly wanted the 2500 for the imaging part. Guess I'll have to come up with the extra coils. I have a Ace 250 with all three coils (6.5X9,9X12,4.5 sniper. Its a shame I can't interchange the coils. But the 2500 is 7.2 khz and the Ace is 6.5 khz. I also have a ADS II with 3 coils and Bloodhound two box attachment, but it also is 6.5 khz. Can you tune the freq down to 6.5 on the 2500? Just a thought, don't know anything about the 2500. I like the idea of the adjustable GB though. Wish the Ace had that function. Just started this year with the computerized detectors when I bought the Ace 250. Still trying to get used to them, I'm used to the older detectors. But detecting is a fun hobby no matter what machine you use.
Again thanks for the info and Happy Hunting.

Bud: Sounds like a pretty good price. Pro package would cost you new upwards part of 900.00 and machine only would be upwards part of 700.00. You do not see alot of them for sale unless the person just don't use it or don't know how to use it. Some people see dollar signs when they get a machine and after they get it they find out it is work.
I love my 2500 if I sold it I would have to replace it with another.
GOOD LUCK
