question on getting the best performance out of my 505 at the beach

Well the snow is finally here, believe it or not this is when I hit the beaches, theres nowhere else to go and besides a few dog walkers they are barron. The strong surf this time of year really cuts at the beach. My question is I own a 505 and want advice on Ground balancing in wet sand and getting the best performance I can from my Xterra, I realize its no Excaliber but It should do a respectable job right?
