Question on Field Hunting...

Steve In Michigan

Active member
The Old house I have been hunting at lately has a old barn acrossed the road in a field. The Field grass is still laid over from the snow but still creates about a 6-8" cushion between the coil and the ground. what would be the best way to try to hunt this (other then renting a tractor with a brush hog). Its kinda hard to push down on the coil and sweep it at the same time. I'm thinking unless the target is right on top or near the surface, it'll be hard for the 2500 to pick it up. All Metal Mode maybe??

Thanks

HH

With the grass that high you are at a distinct disadvantage. You'd have a tough time ground balancing in all metal. I'd rent a weed whacker if you think finds would merit it.

I agree, the deep grass cuts down on your depth and you may miss some deeper finds.A few cows would do the trick if you could find some...
