Question on F70 ground balance?

I thought the F70 was able to ground balance via the ground grab feature, all the way down to salt. I have read posts that say it does not have a manual ground balance feature. Can someone eloborate on this? My Tesoro has a ground balance knob, is this what everyone is talking about, a knob that you can turn vs a button you can push to automatically do it?

Yup, the F70 just has a pushbutton that you hold while pumping the coil up and down to ground balance. There's no way to manually adjust it up or down from there. This is basically the same way the Minelab Sovereign GT is ground balanced with the track switch and it seems to work just fine.

It can be a button or a knob BUT the main concern to some is that the GB system on the f70 now can NOT be overridden and set to a value of their desire.

The GB works as it is and does cover both the disc and all metal modes.

If you do NOT go through the GB procedure when turning the unit on, the DISC mode value of GB is preset to '90'. There is no preset for the all metal mode.

Hope this helps.
