Question on Explorer 2

Can an Explorer 2 completely reject a square pulltab(modern) and still accept nickels?

My Explorer wouldn't

thanks,

and some will still give a signal. I don't dig nickels, I don't know of any year that is of value after they have been in the ground for 70 years. Yes I know some Gold jewelry hits like a nickel and I do dig them when I water hunt but in Parks My odds are its junk. I did dig a nickel signal once about three ago in a park, the targets were few that day and I got one of my most favorite finds, it was pure luck. OK, OK, I do dig them when the signal is deep.

Even if you try and knock out the square pulltab, you will miss a few Nickels due to some Nickels sitting at different angles, misc. trash next to the coin, and also depth. You will also miss Gold Rings also. But if you don't mind missing a few Nickels, just go into Learn, use the smallest cursor, and wave the square pulltab over the coil or if you have an X-1 Probe, wave it across that at a very low sensitivity setting and make sure the pulltab is flat and there isn't any other metal on your arm when you do this. I usually set the sensitivity to 1 Semi-Auto on the Explorer and use the Probe for making a Pattern. And remember to Save it after you are done.
