Question on CZ-3D & CZ-6 QuickSilver recovery speed

Old California

New member
With both the CZ-3D & CZ-6 QuickSilver, are the recovery speed about the same?

I ask because my CZ-6 Quicksilver was not operating properly at first, bought it off the internet for parts and at first thought it had a bad circuit board but now it appears to be a bad control panel.

It would work sometimes then shut down, but when it did work the recovery speed appeared slower than the 3-D not much but a tad slower.

Now, after connecting the 3-D analog control panel to the CZ-6 QuickSilver circuit board it works great and appears to have the same recovery speed as the 3-D?...Is it me or is there a difference between the two on recovery speed?

Appreciate all comments, Thanks!

Not a techie by any means but using the CZ6 thru the CZ3D and every model in between never noticed much difference one from the other...

I do feel the newer models such as the CZ3D and CZ70 pro handled iron masking a little better......

Thank you Dan,

Appreciate the help especially pointing out the CZ models you tried are pretty much the same with the exception the CZ-3D & CZ-70 were a little better in iron masking, Looking forward to using both the CZ-6 QuickSilver and 3D in the coming months ahead very very excited.

I'm kind of a late bloomer to the CZ Series, Still own pretty much every vintage FisherScope model there is and have owned both the Fisher CoinStrike and GoldStrike, one 1225, one 1210?, one Gold bug and even a F-75 but never a CZ.

Very excited, The 3D does detect deep.

Thanks again, you're a major contributer to the hobby.

Yep I was an early bloomer with CZ's and really got some super deep silver with a CZ not to mention some nice rings including a 16 diamond turn of the century gold party ring found on land. Problem is tried the rest and always come back to a CZ. Have admit my F-5 has a lot of good attributes and serves me well but when I am after deep silver go to the CZ,,,Now heres a thought for the new Fisher unit if it ever comes out...An F5 with CZ depth would sell like hotcakes...

I would love to see a bit more depth from the F5 also Dan. Its a fun machine & great coinshooter, but 6-7 inches doesn't cut it at the older sites. Maybe the new offering from FT will fill the gap.

I have seen faster recovery speeds on detectors...the CZ series (older) took a moment to come out of pinpoint mode and back into detecting mode, and recovery speed was adequate, but not as good as some of the newer digital machines..All in all though, I love my CZ 7a Pro.
