Question on Class Rings.

Gulf Huntress

New member
Hi all, I hope that some one can help me figure out how to get a class ring back to its owner. Please send me a private message with instructions, or post it here. I will check back often for replies.

Thanks a bunch, will post pic later.

G.H. Sometime's the school won't give out there address,so i would leave my phone no. at the school and the school would try to reach them. They would then give them my tel.number to reach me ,after i received call from ower of ring, rest was easy.Hope this help. AL.

There are a couple of resources you can use. I've returned several class rings and it was pretty easy and I have one that I've been trying to return for years and no luck.

First, go to www.google.com and search up the school. Now find the "contact us" area and sens an email to (or call them, the number is usually there) and explain who you are and what you have. Unless the ring is decades old, they can usually take the class, initials, and any other markings and find the person. Typically they will take your name, address, and phone number (or whatever you're comfortable giving them) and tell you they will have the person contact you when they get hold of them.

The other thing you can do is to go to http://www.classringfinder.com/ where you will find a "Lost Rings" and a "Found Rings" section. You can add a description of the ring and a picture there. Here's one that I put up there some years ago:

http://www.classringfinder.com/RingDetail.asp?RingID=1216

There is a clearly identifiable nickname that is not visible in the picture that only the owner would know, so no way somebody could "identify it" from the picture.

Anyway, that's all there is to it...pretty simple.

I will get on this, thanks for your information. I will try all the ideas to see if I can get a response. Will keep you all posted. Sorry, haven't taken a pic yet, still kinda tired from the hunt today.

it takes some work.

first: Try and contact the school where the ring is from. Using the class date and intials inside you may get the name of the person or the school will try and contact them. If the school refuses to give the name e-mail the local library, normally a class book is given to the them, making it public property.

second: Run the name through the internet you may get a hit....I'm even there somewhere.

Third GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN and think how the person will feel when the ring is returned.

Thank you for that advice, I have sent an email to the school with all the information about the ring and how they can contact me, but I have not heard anything back yet.

Here is the pic of the ring, the stone looks different in the pic, but it is aquamarine, there is sand or dirt under the stone, will have to be cleaned up. I hope some one will call me back soon.

I did not post, cause I only had $.97 and a Space Center Houston "The Eagle Has Landed" oval plate. Chunked the nut. WTG Gulf Huntress!
