question on a water machine....

Streak!

New member
can anyone recommend a good salt water machine for a lady friend of mine?? She uses a minelab Excal right now, but wants a lighter more user friendly machine. any suggestions?? Will be used on the salt east coast beaches. She does not want a pulse machine! plase send any relpies to my email addy. thanks Streak!

Just hip mount the unit and it will be nice and light.

If I could only have one water machine for the salt water, I would buy an Excal. Does she have the 800 or 1000? The 800 is lighter and has better target separation in trashy areas. Is she stem mounting to the stock shaft? You might try a straight shaft set-up. Huntress and I use the Lightening Rod, however there are others, that balance the unit even better. I am not an advocate of hip mounting, but some do. I hunt in ankle to neck deep water, so balance is not so much of an issue. User friendly, Hmmmm. Get a copy of cjc's Excal book and read it. It will help her with the learning curve and get her on the fast track to treasure in her pouch. PM me if you like and I can give you the settings that work for Huntress and I. Low and slow, will get you the gold.
