Question: My trusty 7 inch coil has gone nuts

Anybody know if tesoro will fix it? Hopefully for free ;~) It's one of the older thick 7 inch con coils- white I only have 3 coils 4 inch,7 inch and the 10.5.

[size=medium]I don't know if ya can get er fixed or not.

You might try messin with tha connector.

Wiggel it ta see if it does somethin.

Sometimes tha wire connections at tha

connector get pulled loose.

Take tha cover off.

Check er real close. Look for a loose wire,

a fraded wire, or somethin that may be wrong.

That is tha most often place ta have a problem.

If it's in tha coil it self, well I just don't know.

It that case, it could be time fer some real

nice last words.

Good luck With Er,

Try all of Daves tricks and if that dont work Call Tesoro. Talk to Rusty or James and tell them whats up.
Ive had them both repair them and replace them, free of charge.
Dont view them as the last step and leave them out of the loop. Get with them early on.

cable strain spring at the connector. On some of the older coils they didn't have the plastic piece on the inside of the connector and, if the spring worked inward, they could short out when the spring contacted the solder points on the plug. With the coils that have springs I always make sure they are pulled out to their farthest length, and check them frequently. This problem is why the plastic piece was added later on when they wired the coils.

It is possible that the coil has gone bad. That happens. Double check to make sure you're ground balanced properly for that coil as a too-negative GB will cause radical performance.

As mentioned by others, make sure the plug is snugly tightened on the connector.

In the end, however, if the other coils work fine, then you just have a coil that's out-of-spec and I'd send it off to Tesoro.

At first i thought my old brown box bandito 1 had gone nuts, scared me silly! Then tried the coil on my old B 2 same results. The coil won't GB turn and turn but stays positive "gets louder" the only thing i can think of is i moved 1200 miles north?? Maybe got banged in transit?? I can GB both machines perfect with the 4 inch and 10.5. I'll look at it tonight and see if the spring was worked in?

1200 miles NORTH? Little Rock to Fargo is app 1060 miles..Now, aren't you sorry you told that Witch Doctor to go to Hades? Approximately where are you hiding from the cool weather.... Cordially Nad
