You guys probably get this question a lot,But here it is where is the best place to sell your finds????Is time to cash in on my gold i have a good bit......thanks guys and gals....

Hey GH,

if you sent 100gms of 10 ct, which translates to approx 41 gms of pure gold, into Midwest, how much do you actually get paid for?
Just roughly? 35gms? More? Less?
Curious to compare them to our refineries.

My perfect 20 20 hindsight tells me if you can afford not to sell it, DON'T. If you must sell do it and sell more than your immediate needs might indicate you need now. Why, if you are short now it may continue for a while, it seems life runs that way to me. You normally get a better deal with a larger amount being sold at one time. If you do only small amounts it tends to get ate up with expenses of the transaction. Lastly I would hold back special items. These may not be more valuable than others just include better memories. Believe me 20-30 years into the future you will wish you had held onto some of those finds.

Well, they say 95%, but you lose some in the melt, and 10K is never REALLY exactly 10K, so after the melt, they do an assay and pay off the troy ozs contained in your lot. It is the best deal I've found at ANY refinery AND there is not a minimum either. As of this minute, and assuming that your lode was EXACTLY 10K, the net payout should be $1176.10 on 100Gs of 10K, at Midwest. Here is spot on the Dendritic's calculator.

Weight of Alloy 100.00 Grams - 64.31 Dwts - 3.215 Troy Ozs
Alloy Gold of 0.417 Purity
Weight of Metal 1.340 Troy Oz of Pure Gold
Price Used 923.75 USD / Troy Oz
Value of Metal 1,238 USD

They pay 98% of that Day's gold price. You can watch them melt the gold, and take an assay sample. They also pay 90% for silver and platinum. dwynn@ntrmetals.com (213)489-1508 We have been there several times, and perhaps you can work up a mail order transaction. We went through our silver jewelry when silver was $17.75, and we had over 134 ounces!! ... been at this hobby for 37 years now.

Thanks for the feedback fellas.

Wow, you guys have got it good over there!

Might have to send my stuff to them, but theres probably laws prohibiting exporting gold.... and then theres the exchanging of US for Aussie dollars, etc, etc, etc..... sigh!

Oh well, back to due diligence.

Lou.
